Target has chosen to remove all references to Christmas in their in-store promotions and retail advertising. The American Family Association contacted Target's Chairman Robert Ulrich asking, that, although it was too late to change in-store and retail advertising this year, could he make a comment regarding Target's stand on the issue next year. They never received a response.
As you may already be aware, Target choose not to invite the Salvation Army bell-ringers to their stores this year. Target has stated that they did not want to offend any customers who oppose or do not celebrate Christmas. It seems they don't mind offending Christians who do celebrate Christmas and their beliefs that go along with this season.
The American Family Association has asked all Christians to boycott Target this holiday season in an attempt to show Target the effects of removing Christmas from their store. They have been successful in receiving over 600,000 signatures from their online boycott pledge.
